소싯적에 즐겨하던 빌라로보스의 4개의 쇼로 중 제1번인 마주르카 쇼로. 대개는 반복 연습과 녹음을 하는 과정에서 그 곡에 질려버리게 되는데, 이번엔 좀 달랐다. 녹음 중 가끔은 곡에 취하기까지 한 걸 보면 빌라로보스는 역시 위대한 작곡가!
빌라로보스가 나고 살았던 브라질은 포르투갈어를 쓰니까 이 단어의 발음은 사실 '쇼루'에 가깝다. 그저 곡이 좋아 쳐대기만 했지 발음 따위엔 관심 없었던 학창 시절엔 모두가 그냥 '초로'라고들 불렀는데, '초로'가 '쇼루'보다는 좀 있어(!) 보이기 때문인지 맞는 발음을 알고 나서도 그냥 '초로' 또는 '쇼로'라고 하게 된다.

Choro (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈʃoɾu], "cry" or "lament"), popularly called chorinho ("little cry" or "little lament"), is an instrumental Brazilian popular music genre which originated in 19th century Rio de Janeiro. Despite its name, the music often has a fast and happy rhythm. It is characterized by virtuosity, improvisation and subtle modulations, and is full of syncopation and counterpoint. Choro is considered the first characteristically Brazilian genre of urban popular music. The serenaders who play choros are known as chorões.
